The personal data we collect
Information you give us
When you complete an enquiry form we collect your name, your email address, your telephone number if you choose to give it, and whatever you tell us about your site or project. If you email or telephone us instead, we hold that correspondence.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records the technical data needed to serve the site securely, including your IP address and request logs.
If you consent to analytics cookies, we also collect information about how you use the site: the pages you view, the site you arrived from, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser, and how you interact with a page. Microsoft Clarity records session replays and heatmaps of those interactions. Nothing in this category is collected unless you agree to it, and you can refuse or withdraw at any time. Our Cookie Policy sets out each cookie in full.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and discuss your project. Our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where we go on to work together, performance of a contract.
- To provide architectural services and keep project records. Performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in maintaining professional and insurance records.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it. Your consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To send you marketing. Your consent. Every message includes a way to opt out.
- To keep the site secure and available. Our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use the following providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Webflow, Inc. Website hosting and the enquiry form. Enquiry submissions are stored on Webflow systems in the United States.
- Google LLC. Google Analytics, where you have consented. Google Fonts also serves the typefaces used on this site, which means your IP address is disclosed to Google when a page loads.
- Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft Clarity, where you have consented, for analytics, session replay and heatmaps.
We may also disclose personal data to our professional advisers and insurers, and where we are required to do so by law.
International transfers
Webflow, Google and Microsoft process personal data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, so that we can pick a conversation back up if you return to us.
- Client and project records: up to 15 years from completion, reflecting the periods over which we must be able to answer professional claims and maintain professional indemnity cover.
- Analytics data: for the retention period set within Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
Keeping it secure
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and any transmission is at your own risk.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email studio@rickett.co.uk.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, on 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would ask you to raise it with us first, so that we have the chance to put it right.
