Brief

RA were appointed to design a contemporary replacement dwelling within the Greenbelt.

The client requested large amounts of glazing to provide natural daylight with a strong sense of inside-outside living. With a contemporary design the client was keen to keep the dwelling ‘homely’ and suitable for day-to-day living.

The RA
Difference

Planning permission was approved for the replacement dwelling in the West Midlands Greenbelt.

Following a Pre Application with Warwick District Council the maximum increase in massing was established and a sensitive design was produced for a full detailed planning application.

The 280sqm contemporary living is framed with views into landscape with open plan living and an environmentally sustainable design.

With the use of soft tones and natural materials, open plan living spaces and framed views into the gardens the design was able to achieve both a contemporary feel with cosy and family friendly spaces.
