Specialist advice

Certain situations require specialist knowledge. If you’re converting buildings, you may want advice about commercial values pre- and post-development, for example. Or, if you’re planning an office, retail or holiday homes development, you’ll need information about potential rental income. We can draw on relevant experience and our contacts in the industry to assist in the appraisal process.

We have an extensive and highly experienced in-house team whose expertise covers everything from plannin  issues to preparing SAP calculations. You can rely on us as a single source of specialist knowledge, saving you time, cost and energy. We can also advise on the selection and appointment of contractors and suppliers. We can also discuss areas such as sustainability and prefabrication. Modern buildings are very energy-efficient: high thermal performance means they cost much less to heat than traditional structures. We can advise you about renewable energy sources such as ground source heat pumps, which use pipes buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground to supply underfloor heating systems and hot water. Beneath the surface, the ground stays at a fairly constant temperature, so a heat pump works throughout the year – even in the middle of winter.

Prefabrication offers speed of construction and accurate, airtight and bespoke buildings that can expand your design choices. What’s more, system built houses perform in excess of building regulations requirements..

Architects’ fees are usually a percentage of the total build cost. That may seem an odd way to work, but it’s surprisingly accurate: a small house with a complex design and fit-out can actually cost more to construct than a larger, simpler, home, and take more architectural work to complete. Our fees are highly competitive, and our quotations are split into the various sections of work, detailing a comprehensive checklist of services.
