Getting started
The first meeting with you is all about listening to your ideas. You’ll probably meet Dan Rickett, as he handles a good deal of our residential work. (He’s also designed and built his own house from scratch, so he understands what you’re going through!)
Many clients have a good idea of what they want, and present us with pictures from magazines, Internet downloads or their own sketches. Others have specific needs:- a home office, or cinema room for instance. Other clients prefer to explain their ideas and use our experience to build up the brief. We’re happy to invest as much time as is necessary to fully understand your requirements.
You’ll probably have some idea of budget for the project. Even at this early stage, we can usually tell you if it’s accurate.
You may already own the land to be built on. If you don’t, we have an extensive range of contacts in land and estate agency businesses. We can also appraise potential sites on a speculative basis, to assist in selecting the right plot.
