Redevelopment of an existing coach house that had fallen into disrepair over a number of years. Although the site fell within the Conservation area of Royal Leamington Spa, the Local Authority were supportive of a contemporary approach to the new dwelling.
The scheme incorporated an enhanced level of insulation, increased specification of glazing and the use of Ground Source heat pumps as the only energy source. We also incorporated a new basement, constructed from prefabricated panels, the basement adds valuable living space to a confined footprint. The scheme has subsequently been awarded an FMB regional award and has been commended by the Leamington Civic Society for its outstanding contribution to the Architecture of Leamington.
